Who we are and what we do
Australian Sweetpotato Growers Inc. (ASPG) began operating informally (2003) as a group of producers coming together to undertake activities for shared benefit.
Who we are
ASPG was formally incorporated in May 2007, under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981. ASPG has one employee (secretary) and a dedicated, elected Management Committee.
Thirty nine of the industry’s current producers are financial members of ASPG. These members are responsible for between 80-90% of national Sweetpotato production. ASPG members pay a voluntary levy that goes to support the running and administrative costs of the organisation
What we do
Represent Sweetpotato producers and their interests to Local, State and Commonwealth government departments and other forums.
Are the eligible industry body for the sweetpotato marketing levy.
As the Peak Industry Body for sweetpotatoes has signed the national Emergency Pest Plant Response Deed with Plant Health Australia.
